  • 4 slices halal turkey breast or beef slices
  • 4 slices halal cheese (provolone, mozzarella, or cheddar)

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • For the Breadcrumb Coating:
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Egg Wash:
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Using a sharp knife, slice a pocket into each chicken breast.
  3. Season chicken inside and out with salt and pepper.
  4. Stuff each chicken breast with 1 slice of halal turkey and 1 slice of cheese.
  5. Coat the Chicken: In a shallow dish, whisk eggs and milk for the egg wash.
  6. In another dish, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  7. Dip each stuffed chicken breast in the egg wash, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
  8. Place on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  9. Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  10. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is fully cooked. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To make ahead, assemble and bread the chicken, then refrigerate for up to 6 hours before baking.
