- For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices halal turkey breast or beef slices
- 4 slices halal cheese (provolone, mozzarella, or cheddar)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- For the Breadcrumb Coating:
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- For the Egg Wash:
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Using a sharp knife, slice a pocket into each chicken breast.
- Season chicken inside and out with salt and pepper.
- Stuff each chicken breast with 1 slice of halal turkey and 1 slice of cheese.
- Coat the Chicken: In a shallow dish, whisk eggs and milk for the egg wash.
- In another dish, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each stuffed chicken breast in the egg wash, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Place on the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
- Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is fully cooked. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To make ahead, assemble and bread the chicken, then refrigerate for up to 6 hours before baking.
