- 1.5 lbs Ground Beef
- 1 Large Green Bell Pepper
- 1 Medium Yellow Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 (15 oz) can Pizza Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- ¾ teaspoon Sea Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
- ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- ½ cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 box (14.1 oz) Refrigerated Pie Crusts
- 1 Large Egg
Instructions
- Brown ground beef, drain excess grease.
- Sauté bell pepper and onion in the same skillet.
- Add garlic, pizza sauce, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (optional). Simmer until thickened.
- Layer one pie crust with mozzarella cheese, beef filling, remaining mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.
- Top with another pie crust, crimp edges, brush with egg wash, cut slits.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, slice, and serve.
Notes
Add pepperoni, mushrooms and olives, or garlic herb butter crust for variations. Make ahead of time or use homemade pizza dough for different crust.
