- Orange sprinkles or fondant (for noses)
- Mini candy canes or pretzel sticks (for arms)
- Red or black decorating gel (for scarves or buttons, optional)
Instructions
- Bake the Cupcakes: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream butter and oil together until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients alternately with milk until just combined.
- Divide batter evenly among muffin cups, filling ¾ full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let cool completely before decorating.
- Prepare the Buttercream Frosting: Beat butter until fluffy. Gradually mix in powdered sugar, alternating with milk, until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Decorate the Snowmen: Frost each cupcake with a mound of buttercream.
- Use mini chocolate chips or candy eyes for eyes and mouth.
- Place an orange sprinkle or fondant piece as the nose.
- Insert mini candy canes or pretzel sticks for arms.
- Add decorating gel for scarves or buttons if desired.
- Let set for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added texture, sprinkle shredded coconut over the frosting to resemble snow. Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to 4 days.
