For the Irresistible Cookie Bar Base:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large fresh eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set.
- Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
For extra texture, add 1 cup of chopped nuts. To keep bars chewy, avoid overbaking. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
