Instructions
- 1. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water.
- 3. Add the 8 ounces of dried egg noodles and cook according to package instructions (7-10 minutes) until al dente.
- 4. While the noodles cook, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
- 5. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the noodles.
- 6. Transfer the drained noodles back to the pot or a mixing bowl and pour the melted butter over them.
- 7. If needed, add reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
- 8. Season with ground black pepper and stir to combine. If using, sprinkle with chopped parsley.
