Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil over high heat.
2. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water.
3. Add the 8 ounces of dried egg noodles and cook according to package instructions (7-10 minutes) until al dente.
4. While the noodles cook, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
5. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the noodles.
6. Transfer the drained noodles back to the pot or a mixing bowl and pour the melted butter over them.
7. If needed, add reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
8. Season with ground black pepper and stir to combine. If using, sprinkle with chopped parsley.
9. Serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat with a splash of water or broth.
