  • 4-6 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs Approximately 2 to 2.5 pounds.
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce Choose your favorite flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For crispy skin.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Enhances savory profile.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Introduces smoky flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground for heat.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for seasoning.

  • fresh herbs For garnish.
  • additional barbecue sauce For serving.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and rub the seasoning mixture evenly over each thigh.
  • Arrange the seasoned chicken thighs on the prepared baking sheet, skin side up.
  • Brush the chicken thighs with half of the barbecue sauce.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Remove from the oven and brush with the remaining barbecue sauce.
  • Let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
