For sautéing the onion and garlic.
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices) to the mixture.
Add the rinsed rice and beef broth, stirring to combine.
Season with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Consider adding mixed vegetables or using different types of cheese for variations.
