  • 1 loaf Crusty Bread (Sourdough or French) About 1 pound in size.
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese (Mozzarella and Cheddar) A combination for best flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Melted for brushing.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder For flavor enhancement.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Herbs (Parsley or Thyme) Finely chopped.
  • 1 pinch Salt To taste.
  • 1 dash Black Pepper To taste.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Make evenly spaced cuts across the top of the loaf, about 1 inch apart, stopping ¾ of the way down.
  • Melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat, then stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Brush the melted butter mixture generously over the bread, ensuring it seeps into the cuts.
  • Stuff the shredded cheese into each cut of the bread.
  • Sprinkle the chopped fresh herbs over the top of the bread.
  • Wrap the loaf in aluminum foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes uncovered.
  • Let the bread cool for a few minutes before slicing along the cut lines.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For variations, consider adding jalapeños for spice, different cheeses, or sautéed vegetables.
