Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Drain the pasta and return it to the pot. Drizzle with olive oil and toss gently to coat.
Add the marinara sauce mixture to the pasta and stir until evenly coated.
Incorporate half of the shredded mozzarella cheese and half of the pepperoni slices into the pasta mixture.
Transfer the pasta mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Top with the remaining pepperoni slices and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days. Can be frozen before baking for up to three months.
