  • 3 cups Mini marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate chips Optional
  • 1/2 cup Colorful sprinkles Optional
  • 1 pinch Salt

Instructions
 

  • Prepare your workspace: Gather all your ingredients and tools. You will need a large mixing bowl, a saucepan, a spatula, and a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Melt the butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. Once fully melted, remove from heat.
  • Add marshmallows: Immediately add the mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir gently until the marshmallows begin to melt and combine with the butter.
  • Incorporate vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt once the marshmallows are melted and smooth.
  • Add Chex cereal: Pour the Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl and pour the melted marshmallow mixture over it. Fold gently with a spatula.
  • Optional add-ins: If using, fold in chocolate chips or sprinkles at this stage.
  • Transfer to the pan: Spread the mixture evenly in the greased baking pan, pressing down gently.
  • Cool and set: Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or refrigerate to speed up the process.
  • Cut into squares: Once set, cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
