Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and green bell peppers. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until soft.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sautéed vegetables, breadcrumbs, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
Fold in the shredded cheese until evenly distributed.
Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a lined baking sheet.
Spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top for added flavor.
Bake for 60-75 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
Allow to rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For variations, consider adding jalapeños for heat or using different cheeses for flavor.
