  • 1 lb Ground Beef Lean ground beef for flavor without excess grease.
  • 1 medium Onion Finely chopped.
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper Diced.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce Your favorite brand.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 12 pieces Slider Buns Soft and fresh.
  • optional Cheese Slices of cheddar or American.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil For sautéing vegetables.

Instructions
 

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil and let it warm up.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • Add the diced green bell pepper and sauté for another 3 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Add barbecue sauce and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste and let simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice slider buns in half and place bottom halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto each bottom bun and add cheese if desired.
  • Top with the other half of the bun and brush with olive oil or melted butter.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until buns are toasted and cheese is melted.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, slice into portions, and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat before serving.
