1. Prepare your ingredients. Ensure the beef steak is at room temperature and season both sides with salt and pepper.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt.
3. Place the seasoned steak into the skillet and sear each side for about 3-4 minutes.
4. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board.
