Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the Coca Cola, vegetable oil, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for about 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • For the frosting, melt the butter in a saucepan, then stir in the cocoa powder.
  • Add the Coca Cola to the saucepan, stirring until smooth. Let it cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar and the cocoa mixture. Beat until smooth and spreadable.
  • Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake and let it set before slicing.
  • Serve at room temperature or slightly chilled.
