Instructions
 

  • 1. Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • 2. Add the chopped onion and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until translucent.
  • 3. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
  • 4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and tomato sauce, stirring to combine.
  • 5. Add the broth and season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • 6. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • 7. Break the lasagna noodles into pieces and add to the pot, stirring to submerge.
  • 8. Simmer for an additional 10 to 12 minutes until the pasta is tender.
  • 9. In a small bowl, combine ricotta cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • 10. Remove the pot from heat and stir in the ricotta mixture until well incorporated.
  • 11. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top and allow to melt slightly before serving.
  • 12. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.
