  • 1 cup Fresh Crab Meat Cooked and picked over for shells.
  • 1 pound Fresh Shrimp Large, cleaned and deveined.

Vegetables

  • 1 cup Finely Chopped Shallots Adds a sweet and mild onion flavor.
  • 3 cloves Minced Garlic Enhances the flavor of the bisque.

  • 1 medium Chopped Carrot Contributes sweetness and color.

Base

  • 4 cups Vegetable Broth Quality low-sodium broth recommended.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream For a luxurious, creamy texture.

Garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare your ingredients: Clean and devein the shrimp, and pick through the crab meat to remove any shell fragments.
  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat until foamy.
  • Add shallots, garlic, celery, and carrots. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add the crab meat and shrimp, cooking until shrimp are pink (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Remove half of the bisque and blend until smooth, then return to the pot.
  • Stir in the heavy cream and heat gently, adjusting seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.

Notes

Leftover bisque can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove.
