Instructions
 

  • 1. Peel and rinse the russet potatoes, then grate them into thin shreds.
  • 2. Squeeze out excess moisture from the grated potatoes using a kitchen towel or cheesecloth.
  • 3. Finely chop the onion and optionally sauté it in a pan with a teaspoon of oil until translucent.
  • 4. In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, sautéed onion, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • 5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • 6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush with oil.
  • 7. Form the potato mixture into patties or nests and place them in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  • 8. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  • 9. Remove from the air fryer and let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
  • 10. Serve hot with your favorite toppings or as a snack.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the air fryer for best results.
