Frying Ingredients

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and ½ teaspoon of salt. Mix them well to evenly distribute the salt.
  • Gradually add ¾ cup of warm water to the flour mixture. Use your hands to combine the ingredients until a dough begins to form.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, and ½ teaspoon of cumin. Stir until the cheese is evenly coated.
  • Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  • Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter.
  • Place a generous tablespoon of the cheese filling in the center of the tortilla. Fold the tortilla in half and press the edges together to seal.
  • Heat about 2 cups of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Carefully place the filled tortilla into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the Doritos from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  • Continue the process with the remaining dough and cheese filling.
  • Serve warm and enjoy fresh out of the fryer!

Notes
