2cupsVegetable OilFor frying the tortillas until crispy and golden.
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour and ½ teaspoon of salt. Mix them well to evenly distribute the salt.
Gradually add ¾ cup of warm water to the flour mixture. Use your hands to combine the ingredients until a dough begins to form.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, and ½ teaspoon of cumin. Stir until the cheese is evenly coated.
Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
Roll each ball into a thin circle, about 6 inches in diameter.
Place a generous tablespoon of the cheese filling in the center of the tortilla. Fold the tortilla in half and press the edges together to seal.
Heat about 2 cups of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
Carefully place the filled tortilla into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Remove the Doritos from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
Continue the process with the remaining dough and cheese filling.
Serve warm and enjoy fresh out of the fryer!

For variations, consider adding jalapeños for spice or experimenting with different cheese types.
