Cheesecake Layer

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
  • Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, alternating with milk until combined.
  • Fold in diced apples gently.
  • Divide batter between prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Beat cream cheese until smooth, then add powdered sugar and mix until combined.
  • Whip heavy cream until soft peaks form, then fold into cream cheese mixture.
  • Place one cake layer on a platter and spread half of the cheesecake filling on top.
  • Top with the second cake layer and spread remaining cheesecake filling on top.
  • Drizzle caramel sauce over the top and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
  • Slice and serve, garnished with additional caramel and apple slices if desired.
