Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well combined.
  • In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, and eggs until smooth.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in chopped pecans.
  • Transfer the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Mix together brown sugar and chopped pecans for the topping, and sprinkle it over the batter.
  • Pour hot water gently over the entire dish.
  • Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
