Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts About 1.5 to 2 pounds total.
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese Use full-fat cream cheese for a richer sauce.
  • 1 cup Chicken broth Opt for low-sodium broth.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian herbs Such as basil, oregano, and thyme.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For sautéing the chicken.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped For garnish, optional.

Instructions

  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and sear for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove chicken and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add chicken broth, scraping the bottom to release browned bits.
  • Once simmering, add cream cheese and stir until melted and integrated into the broth, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, and dried Italian herbs to the sauce. Stir well and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over each piece. Cover and let simmer for 5-10 minutes to heat through.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately with extra sauce.
