Instructions
Gather all your ingredients, ensuring tomatoes are ripe, onion is fresh, and jalapeños are firm.
Rinse tomatoes under cold water, pat dry, slice in half, remove seeds if desired, and dice into small pieces.
Peel and finely chop the onion into small pieces.
Cut jalapeños in half, remove seeds and membranes, and finely dice.
Chop cilantro leaves, discarding thick stems.
In a large mixing bowl, combine diced tomatoes, chopped onion, diced jalapeños, and cilantro. Gently toss.
Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture and sprinkle with salt. Mix thoroughly.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Let sit for 15-20 minutes at room temperature.
Give the pico de gallo a gentle stir before serving.
