Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the minced garlic and continue to sauté for another minute.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Sprinkle the taco seasoning over the cooked beef and mix well. Allow it to simmer for a few minutes.
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper. Spread a layer of tortilla chips evenly across the sheet.
  • Spoon the seasoned ground beef mixture over the tortilla chips.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the beef and chips.
  • If using jalapeños, scatter the slices over the cheese layer.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove the nachos from the oven and let them cool for a minute. Top with diced tomatoes, fresh cilantro, diced avocado, and black olives if using.
  • Serve warm, accompanied by a dollop of sour cream on the side.
