Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Mix gently until just combined.
Form the mixture into four equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
Transfer the cooked patties to a plate and cover to keep warm.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add flour to the drippings. Whisk for 1-2 minutes until golden, then slowly pour in beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps.
Stir in soy sauce and cook until the gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Return the patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
