  • 1. Wash the fresh peaches thoroughly under cold water.
  • 2. Slice the peaches in half and remove the pits.
  • 3. Slice each peach half into rings about 1/4 inch thick.
  • 4. In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • 5. Add the lemon juice and salt to the syrup, stirring well.
  • 6. Bring the syrup to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • 7. Add the peach rings to the saucepan, ensuring they are well-coated in the syrup. Simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
  • 8. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • 9. Preheat your oven to the lowest setting, around 150°F (65°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 10. Arrange the peach rings in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • 11. Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the peach rings dry for about 6-8 hours.
  • 12. Once dried, remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  • 13. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
