Instructions
1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and active dry yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt.
3. Make a well in the flour mixture, pour in the activated yeast mixture, honey, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
4. Add finely chopped jalapenos and mix until evenly distributed.
5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
6. Shape into a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
7. Punch down the dough, knead gently, and shape into a loaf. Place seam-side down in a greased loaf pan.
8. Cover and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until risen above the edge of the pan.
9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the top of the loaf with beaten egg.
10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
11. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
12. Slice and enjoy fresh or toasted!
