Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour Provides structure and texture for the crust.
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter Cold and cubed for a flaky texture.
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar Sweetens the crust and aids browning.
  • 1 large Egg Yolk Adds moisture and richness to the dough.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor and balances sweetness.
  • 1 cup Jam Your choice of fruit jam (strawberry, raspberry, apricot).
  • 1 tablespoon Cold Water To help bring the dough together if needed.

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
  • Add the cold, cubed unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Blend until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Add the egg yolk and mix until the dough comes together. If too dry, add cold water a tablespoon at a time.
  • Shape the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thick. Cut out circles for tart pans.
  • Press each dough circle into the tart pans and trim excess dough.
  • Spoon about a tablespoon of jam into each tart shell, being careful not to overfill.
  • Place the tart pans on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Allow the tarts to cool in the pans for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Serve at room temperature and enjoy!
