  • 12 rolls Kings Hawaiian Rolls Foundation of the recipe, adds sweetness.
  • 16 ounces Cream Cheese Softened for easy mixing.
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar Sweetens the cheesecake filling.
  • 2 large Eggs At room temperature for better incorporation.
  • 1/2 cup Sour Cream Adds richness and tanginess.
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon Zest For a burst of citrus flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar For dusting on top before serving.
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter Melted, for brushing on rolls.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Bean Paste or Extract Enhances flavor of the filling.
  • to taste Ground Cinnamon Optional, for added warmth and spice.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate lemon zest and vanilla extract.
  • Slice Kings Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and lay the bottom halves in a greased baking dish.
  • Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and pour the cheesecake filling over the bottom layer.
  • Place the top halves of the rolls on the filling and press down lightly.
  • Brush the top with more melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and filling is set.
  • Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Can be served warm or chilled. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
