Homemade Red Robin Mud Pie

Ingredients
  

Chocolate Cookie Crust

  • 2 cups Finely crushed chocolate cookies
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Melted

Chocolate Filling

  • 1 cup Instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups Whole milk Can substitute with half-and-half for richness
  • 1 cup Whipped topping
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate syrup For drizzling
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate shavings For garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate cookies with the melted butter. Stir until all the cookie crumbs are thoroughly coated.
  • Press the cookie mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Bake for about 10 minutes, then allow to cool completely.
  • In a large bowl, combine the pudding mix with the milk. Whisk together for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
  • Pour the chocolate pudding mixture into the cooled cookie crust and spread it evenly.
  • Drizzle the chocolate syrup over the top of the pie.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
  • Slice into wedges and enjoy your mud pie cold.

Notes

This dessert can be customized with various toppings or flavors. Consider adding mint extract or peanut butter for a twist.
