Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (any color)
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 pieces green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil for stir-frying

Instructions

  • 1. Prepare the marinade by combining soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and gochujang in a bowl. Whisk until the sugar dissolves.
  • 2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are coated. Cover and marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • 3. While the beef marinates, cook the rice according to package instructions or use leftover rice.

  • 5. Remove the beef and stir-fry the broccoli, bell peppers, and carrots in the same skillet for 3-5 minutes until tender.
  • 6. Return the beef to the skillet, toss with vegetables for an additional minute to combine flavors.
  • 7. Assemble the bowls with rice, topped with the beef and vegetable mixture, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
  • 8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
