Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan or two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients and whisk together.
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy, then add applesauce and oil.
Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Pour in the milk and mix until smooth. Fold in nuts if using.
Pour batter into prepared pan(s) and smooth the top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve plain or frost as desired.
