  • 1 can (28 ounces) Crushed Tomatoes Adds acidity and sweetness.
  • 3 cups Low-Sodium Chicken Broth For cooking the pasta.

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté diced onion for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  • Add minced garlic and stir for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add spicy sausage, breaking it apart as it cooks for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Pour in crushed tomatoes and chicken broth, stirring to combine.
  • Add pasta, ensuring it is submerged in the liquid.
  • Stir in Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Check pasta for doneness. If needed, continue to simmer until al dente.
  • Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
  • Garnish with chopped basil and serve hot.
