Instructions
Prepare your sourdough starter to ensure it is active and bubbly.
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and granulated sugar until dissolved. Add sourdough starter and egg, mixing well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Shape the dough into a ball, place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
Prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing softened butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar until smooth.
Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 16x12 inches.
Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
Roll the dough tightly from one long edge and cut into 12 equal pieces.
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30-60 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Prepare a glaze by mixing powdered sugar with milk, drizzle over rolls after baking.
Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
