Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour Sifted for light texture.
  • 2 teaspoons Active dry yeast Check expiration date for freshness.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor and strengthens gluten.

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm water About 110°F to activate yeast.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil Extra virgin for richness.

Filling

  • 1 cup Pesto sauce Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 cup Feta cheese Crumble for easy spreading.

Seasoning

  • Black pepper Freshly ground, to taste.

Instructions
 

  • 1. Activate the yeast by combining warm water and active dry yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  • 3. Make a well in the flour mixture and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.
  • 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  • 6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread pesto, and sprinkle feta cheese on top.
  • 7. Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces.
  • 8. Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • 9. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • 10. Let cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the oven.
