  • 1 pound Ground beef Use a lean blend to avoid excess grease.
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning Essential for classic taco flavor.
  • 6-8 pieces Tortillas Flour or corn, for layering.
  • 1 can Refried beans 15 oz can adds creaminess.
  • 2 cups Shredded cheese Cheddar or Mexican blend for gooey texture.
  • 1 cup Taco sauce Adds moisture and flavor.
  • 1 cup Chopped tomatoes Fresh for a burst of flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Chopped green onions For garnish and fresh flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Black olives Optional, for added flavor.
  • to taste Sour cream For serving, adds creaminess.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook 1 pound of ground beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Drain excess grease and add 1 packet of taco seasoning. Stir well.
  • Add 1/4 cup of water and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing it lightly.
  • Layer 2-3 tortillas at the bottom of the dish.
  • Spread half of the refried beans over the tortillas.
  • Add half of the seasoned ground beef mixture, followed by 1 cup of shredded cheese.
  • Repeat the layering with another set of tortillas, remaining refried beans, ground beef, and cheese.
  • Top with remaining tortillas and pour 1 cup of taco sauce over the top.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and cover with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Let it sit for 10 minutes before slicing and serve with garnishes.
