Instructions
Gather all ingredients on a clean workspace. Ensure butter is softened.
Cream the butter in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Gradually sift in the cocoa powder and mix until combined.
Add the powdered sugar one cup at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
Add the milk gradually until the desired consistency is reached.
If using, add the vanilla essence and mix until incorporated.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl and beat for another 1-2 minutes until fluffy.
Your icing is ready! Use immediately or store covered.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
