  • 2 cups Fresh Basil Leaves Packed, washed, and dried.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Fresh garlic cloves.
  • 1/3 cup Pine Nuts Lightly toasted.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated.
  • 1/2 cup Olive Oil Extra virgin.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Instructions
 

  • Gather all ingredients: basil leaves, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Toast the pine nuts in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove the pine nuts from the skillet and let them cool slightly.
  • In a food processor, combine the basil leaves, toasted pine nuts, and garlic. Pulse until finely chopped.
  • Add the grated Parmesan cheese and pulse until well incorporated.
  • With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the pesto reaches your desired consistency.
  • Taste and add salt and pepper as needed, blending briefly to combine.
  • Transfer the pesto to a clean jar or container. Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.

Notes

For variations, consider adding lemon juice, different herbs, or using other nuts.
