Dough Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour Sifted to remove lumps.
  • 2 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast To help the dough rise.
  • 1.5 cups Warm Water About 110°F for activating yeast.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil For flavor and moisture.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor and strengthens gluten.

Sauce and Toppings

  • 1.5 cups Tomato Sauce High-quality, seasoned sauce preferred.
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese For a gooey texture.
  • 2-3 cups Assorted Toppings Vegetables or proteins of choice.

Fresh Herbs

  • to taste Fresh Basil For garnish.
  • to taste Fresh Oregano For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • 1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sifted flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  • 3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • 4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm area for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.
  • 5. Prepare the tomato sauce by simmering it with a pinch of salt and oregano for about 15 minutes.
  • 6. Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone inside if you have one.
  • 7. Punch down the risen dough, divide it into two portions, and shape each into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
  • 8. Spread tomato sauce over the shaped dough, leaving a border for the crust, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  • 9. Add your choice of toppings, being careful not to overload the pizza.
  • 10. Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  • 11. Garnish with fresh basil or oregano, let cool slightly, slice, and serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
