  • 1 cup Basmati Rice Rinsed to remove excess starch.
  • 1.25 cups Water Essential for cooking the rice.
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt Enhances the flavor of the rice.
  • 1 tablespoon Oil or Ghee Adds richness and prevents sticking.
  • Optional Aromatics Bay leaf or cardamom pod for added flavor.

Instructions
 

  • Rinse the rice under cold running water for about 2-3 minutes to remove excess starch.
  • Transfer the rinsed rice to the Instant Pot. Add water, salt, and oil or ghee. Stir gently to combine.
  • Close the lid and set the pressure valve to sealing. Select 'Manual' or 'Pressure Cook' and set the timer for 6 minutes on high pressure.
  • After cooking, allow for a natural pressure release for 10 minutes before carefully releasing any remaining pressure.
  • Open the lid and fluff the rice with a fork to separate the grains.
  • Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
