  • 0.5 cup Honey High-quality honey for best flavor.
  • 0.25 cup Soy Sauce Low-sodium preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons Rice Vinegar Adds acidity to balance sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Ginger Can use fresh ginger if preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Adds nutty flavor.

Instructions
 

  • Prepare your ingredients and trim excess fat from chicken thighs.
  • In a medium bowl, combine minced garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ground ginger, and sesame oil. Whisk until well blended.
  • Place chicken thighs in the slow cooker, spread out evenly.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Do not lift the lid during cooking to preserve heat and moisture.
  • Check the chicken's internal temperature 30 minutes before serving; it should reach 165°F (75°C).
  • If desired, thicken the sauce by removing chicken and turning the slow cooker to high for 15-20 minutes.
  • Return chicken to the slow cooker to soak in the thickened sauce for 10 minutes.
  • Serve chicken on a platter, drizzling sauce over the top and garnishing with chopped green onions.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
