Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds Sweet Potatoes Choose firm, unblemished potatoes.
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar Packed for best results.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Unsalted and softened.
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon Ground for flavor enhancement.
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans For the streusel topping.
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour For binding the streusel topping.
  • 1 pinch Salt To enhance flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Whole Milk For creaminess in sweet potatoes.

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into uniform chunks.
  • Place sweet potatoes in a pot, cover with water, add a pinch of salt, and boil until fork-tender (15-20 minutes).
  • In a bowl, combine pecans, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for the streusel topping.
  • Add softened butter to the pecan mixture and mix until crumbly.
  • Drain sweet potatoes, return to pot, and mash with milk, remaining butter, and cinnamon.
  • Spread mashed sweet potatoes in a greased baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the pecan streusel topping evenly over the sweet potatoes.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve warm as a side dish or main course.

Notes

Consider adding coconut or oats for variations. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
